It’s nice to have a woodcarver available to put the right accent on your project, whether it be a carved door, carved fireplace mantel, or a carved architectural accent. Many people come to me with preconceived designs, some with no idea for a design. I first find out what people like, do some drawing, and head in an area of interest. Once a design is agreed on a clay model may have to be done to be sure this woodcarving is what we are looking for. In the workshop, wood is selected, milled and glued for the stock needed for the carving. Roughing out the project is next. This is a point where the project manager should view progress so that we are all on the same page. Progress is resumed and detailing is done on the carving. Staining and finishing are then completed with another inspection before delivery and installation of the carving. The whole idea is to have as much communication through the process as possible. When a decision is made to go ahead with a carved door, carved mantel, carved mural or whatever your project, a contract is drawn, including drawings, and a deposit is made, the balance paid on completion. Some projects require the work to be done on site. In such cases, especially in long distances, extra expenses may be incurred, and the client will be advised of this in advance. I hope you enjoy the gallery page to give you new ideas and that we will be able to work together in the near future. |
